Opening Night

Okay, so it’s the first day of the festival and I’m really excited. We met at school at 8:30 and took a trailer to the Lobero. After that we went to the Hotel Santa Barbara to get our Press Passes. We met this lady named Kim who is from New Jersey who was helping with the Press Passes.  We took our pictures, got our passes, and then we were waiting for some posters to put on our trailer when Charlotte overheard some filmmaker named John that made a film about Sitting Bull. She was really excited because it was her first interview. After that we noticed that the people with the black gift bags that said 22nd Annual Santa Barbara Film Festival were either Platinum Pass holders or filmmakers. We talked to Kim for a long time about  being from Jersey, being short, how adults don’t know how to use computers, and what we want to do when we get older. Then everyone but Alexa, Charlotte and I left to go setup the trailer. Meanwhile David Charlotte, Alexa and I stayed and talked to Carol Marshall about the Red Carpet and Interviews. For some reason she told us to come see her on Wednesday at any time after nine. She wouldn’t tell us what we are are doing though. All she says is that it is good. Then we talked to Kim AGAIN and she introduced us to a photographer. After that we talked to this lady Gail Osherenko who made the film Arctic Expedition. It’s about a trip that she took to the Arctic. She is local and she said that she would be willing to come to SBMS and do a presentation.  After that someone from SantaBarbaraScene.com took a picture of us interviewing her. Then we came to the trailer where I am now.
