Opening Night

What’s Up Today!!

Hey Guys!

So, here’s the scoop: Tonight’s Opening Night!!! Eli, Charlotte, and David TL will be going, so cross your fingers!! They’ll be seeing the premier movie Factory Girl!
I’m SUPER excited, and a little bit nervous. Will I be able to handle the interviews, or will I stumble over my words and just ask for their autograph?!! I’m building up my courage here! Today we got our press badges @ the Santa Barbara Hotel (they have really good coffee!!) Charlotte, Eli, and Alexa got an interview, we hung out with a writer named Kim, set up our trailer, and that’s pretty much what we are doing now. My computer isn’t wireless so I don’t have any internet. I’m really jealous of the people who do!!

What I’m Doing!!

Pretty much, I’m gonna be seeing 2 movies every day and writing reviews on each and every one of them. I’ll also be seeing Will Smith’s (Pursuit of Happyness) modern master award ceremony as well as Bill Condon’s (Dreamgirls). Some movies will be long, some short, some documentary, some cinimedia. We’ll be doing a lot of interviews and reports on those, so it’s gonna be pretty busy. Because we’ve got to do our other schoolwork on top of the stuff John gives us, I’ve also been pretty crunched! But I think I’ll get out of it alive!! : )

Friday Movies!!
On Friday I’ll be seeing Blindsight @ 10:45 AM, and Ayamye and Recycled Life @ 1:45 PM (those two are showing together).
Blindsight is the story of some blind kids on their way up Mt. Everest. Geeze. It’s about the conflicts they face, and how they are treated in their home country. It sounds REALLY interesting and inspiring! I can’t wait to see it!

Recycled Life is about a family in Guatemala living in a dump!! It sounds really sad, but I can think of ways it could be pretty uplifting as well. Check it out tomorrow to see!
The other movie Ayamye, is about a rural Ghana. Here there is no free means of transportation and people will spend over 50% of their income on carfare. This is the story of the association Bikes not Bombs, that took action when they heard of this crisis, by donating bikes to the “crippled” villages of Ghana. Guess what?? We’re gonna see the producer guy and interview him! I’m so excited!!!!
