UNDER THE SAME MOON
Who’s in it:
Adrian Alonso- Carlitos, Kate Del Catillo- Rosario, Engenio Derdez- Enrique and America Ferrera- Marta

The Basics:
A young boy named Carlitos lives with his grandmother, and hasn't seen his mom for four years. But every sunday at ten o'clock sharp, his mom calls from a pay-phone in Los Angeles. One day his grandmother dies and Carlitos decides to go live with his mom. On the way to his mom he learns the hardships of crossing the border, and being an illegal immigrant. Luckily it all turns out fine.

The Good News:
A great film, full of emotion and has great actors. The suspense was killing me during the movie, but it was all happy in the end. It also has a great plot full of twists and turns. Since it was in Spanish, I believe the film was even better than it would be in English. Full of a great cast of Mexican actors, though I did
recognize America Ferrera, from Ugly Betty, in there.

The Bad News:
It was an okay ending, but I would have wished for a different ending. Some parts were a bit unexplained to the viewer, so you had to figure out what happened, which is so in most movies. If they could have talked more about being an illegal immigrant, or coming to America, because it is a big topic right now in politics, not to say they didn't cover it enough.

The Verdict:
Under The Same Moon is the loving story of a young boy and his long difficult journey to reach his mom in Los Angeles.

I give it a 5.
