After his grandmother passes away, Carlitos is left without a caretaker. Under the Same Moon is his story and his quest to find his mother from Mexico to LA. With the help of many friends, Carlitos is smuggled across the border. Through his adventures he snakes in and out of the fingers of the police. In the end he does not only find his mother, he finds himself.
Under the Same Moon is so far my favorite movie of the festival. I really liked the plot of the story; it was funny, memorable, and heartfelt. This movie switched back and forth between two stories, and I think that they did a really good job of making them flow together. I also really loved all the characters. In the beginning you didn’t like some of the characters and in the end you really grew to love them. The little boy was so cute, and all the characters really played their parts well, and were very believable.
I don’t think there was anything negative I could say about the movie.
All in all it was a great story, and movie in general. I recommend everyone to try and get to see this amazing film.
I give this movie a five!
