A TICKET OUT OF POVERTY
Part of the SANTA BARBARA DOCS Shorts Program

Who did it:
Directed by Javier Saldena

The Basics:
Ticket Out of Poverty is a documentary about a program called CENIT, Center for the Working Girl.  It is located in Ecuador and provides girls, who would work in the local market, an education. It also started providing education for boys in the markets too. Boys can only come if they have a sibling at CENIT. With education they also have a medical clinic for all the people in the town.

The Good News:
Short, simple, and very interesting. It has great footage of the kids at CENIT. He had found a great organization to make a documentary about. A job well done to Javier Saldena.

The Bad News:
No real bad news, it was really good, one of the best out of all the documentaries. Maybe a bit more from the kids, because they didn't really talk much, and the children are such big parts of CENIT.

The Verdict:
A great short simple documentary about a very intriguing charity.
