We showed up at the library, with camera and other assorted stuff. Susan was talking to this woman with a strange hairdo (seriously, it was diagonal!) so we decided to   interview her. She was the artist who did the postcards that demonstrated the ocean level rise, but Clay got confused and thought she was one of the scientists who was speaking that night, so he started asking her all these questions about “other greenhouse gases.”

We got good seats in the front row, so Matthew could film the thingy. Mayor Blum talked a lot about what she is having done in Santa Barbara. Then came Professor Lee Hannah who talked about endangered species and how that was related or something like that; it wasn’t very engaging. Next was Professor Catherine Gautier (my dad’s friend) who talked about aerosols and the atmosphere. When the Q&A came, everytime someone asked a question, Prof. Hannah would say, “I think I’ll let my colleague Catherine answer that.” Clay and I both got a few good questions I, and then this one man in the back had a question about Greenland. Once Prof. Gautier tried to answer, he started ranting about how, “Greenland is the end of the world!” They let him go for a while before the audio guy started stage whispering, “Cut him off!”

So once it was over, I interviewed him, Clay was scared of him, and so it was just me. I I asked him what he thought and he rambled on and on about “Insignificance!” and “The most shameful California!” That concluded our evening…
