THE WORLD BEFORE HER

...is a story about the two most diverse worlds in India. This documentary follows the life of a woman who is prepared to kill and die for her Hindu beliefs, and is running a camp to teach young girls how to protect themselves and Hinduism. This documentary also follows a groups of women all running for the title of Miss. India World and the things they do to themselves to prepare for the pageant. This documentary really opens your eyes to the different issues and beliefs in India.

There was a lots of vibrant colors in the documentary and there is lots of Indian music also to help tell you the cuter. In this documentary the cinematography was amazing, the way that they would transfer from talking about the pageant to then going to the girls camp and showing the camp teaching the girls how to shoot a gun. The filmmakers were very good at asking the right questions to the women who runs the camp to get her to talk about what she thinks about the modern India, and to get there to talk about her father beating her as a child, but she was totally fine with it and believes that it was good.

The scene that stands out to me the most is the scene where they are interviewing one of the girls at the Hindu nationalist camp and a 12 year old girls says that she is prepared and wants to kill people who don’t believe in Hinduism. This camp that these girls go to is pretty intense it is a boot camp to protect the Hindu religion. Them on the other hand there are these girls who want to be Miss. India and the preparation they go through to maybe winning the pageant but probably not.

I recommend this film to everyone above the age of eleven not because of inappropriateness but because to really understand it and appreciate how good it is you have to be pretty mature. I recommend this film to everyone because I have not met a person that did not love this film, especially if you are interested in the Indian culture, you will love this film! It is definitely a must see!I rate this film a 5 out of 5!
