Hi, I’m Kendall, and I’m a seventh grader at the Santa Barbara Middle School.

I wanted to join Teen Press as soon as I heard about it because I knew it would be a great opportunity that I couldn’t find anywhere else. Nobody I know has interviewed Brad Pitt-- especially kids! Who wouldn’t want to join Teen Press? Some of my interests include gymnastics, soccer, and writing. Since I love writing and it’s one of my best subjects, I think it would be awesome if I could one day be a news broadcaster or a writer for a magazine. I can see it now: And now, Kendall Weaver, with the 6 o’clock news.

I was on Teen Press for the winter trimester, and I definitely had a lot of fun. I got the opportunity to interview some really cool people and go to some really exciting events. One of the most important things I learned was that if you have confidence, then whoever you’re interviewing will look at you as a serious interviewer. If I could interview any person, I would probably interview Kira Plastinina because she’s only 16, but she already has an entire business designing clothes and has stores all over the world. This shows that you can do anything you put your mind to, which is a big motto of mine.

In Teen Press, I’m looking forward to doing every single interview that I can, and also learning from all the interviews I do. More specifically, I’m super excited to go to Washington D.C. and the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. I know I’ll be able to meet some really cool people. I know I’m going to have a great time!
