The Basics:
An Afghani taxi driver cannot decide what to do when a veiled woman “forgets” her baby in his taxi. This subtitled film not only follows his indecision about what to do with the child but also shows us a little about Afghani culture, especially how sexist family life is.
The Good News:
This movie was set in a beautiful location, and it was very interesting to see what Afghanistan really looks like. I liked seeing what family life was like in Afghanistan, because that is something I have never studied.
The Bad News:
The plot of the story was very slow and predictable, and the subtitles could sometimes take away from the movie.
The Verdict:
I would give Kabuli Kid 2 out of 5 stars because it did not hold my attention very well.
