RESCUING EMMANUEL
Tired, hungry and cold, street kids crowd the streets in Washington, D.C., as well as in Kenya and many other places. Rescuing Emmanuel is a tear jerking film that revolves around young kids living on the street with no food, taking drugs, sometimes even getting raped. The filmmakers come across kids who have run away from their homes, from disasters like AIDS, drugs and war, and they survive by begging, offering sex for food, stealing, and rummaging through garbage. The movie was supposed to take place in countries around the world, but when the filmmakers arrived in Kenya, they met a young 13-year-old boy, Emmanuel, who came into their life and took over the film. All Emmanuel wanted to do was go to school, have something to eat, and new clothes to wear.

When the filmmakers first met Emmanuel, he had filthy clothes, and no identity.

The film shows how the filmmakers connect him with one couple who wants to rescue and help Emmanuel, and allow him to go to school as he wished.

There are great turning points and huge hurdles that the filmmakers and Emmanuel have to successfully jump over to complete the journey.

I would definitely rate this film a 5.
