Moved by the Movies

So let me start with last night. I saw Can Mr. Smith Still Get to Washington Anymore? I had mixed feelings about it, cuz while it didn’t strike me as really great, it really inspired me, and I do think I enjoyed watching it. It was pretty neat watching how all the energy and love that they put in it really could pay off in the end. Wow! So I think I’d give this movie a 4 or 3 out of five. To really enjoy it, I think that you have to have a pretty good understanding of how elections work and all, because I got kind of confused.
Okay. Well on to this morning. We went down to Hotel Santa Barbara (which is pretty much the base for the whole festival) and found out that there is this show called Extreme Cooking and one of the cooking adventures is to cook a meal for 350 guests from the film festival. So then we found out that some of us are gonna go down there and see what’s up. Right now its 2:20 pm and we’re not sure who’s gonna go to the cooking thing and we’re not sure when, but maybe I’ll go. I don’t know. Well anyway, we also found out that one alumni is making a ten minute movie for the film festival, and some of us are also going to cover that. So then we were on our way back to the trailer and found out that two of us could go and see Man in the Chair. So Eli and I went back, met John at the Metro and saw it, just like that.
Man in the Chair was REALLY good and I loved it! I don’t think that it beat Bella, but it was definitely up there! I think it did a beautiful job of mixing the new and the old in every aspect. It brought up really good points that I don’t think I ever thought of before. All of a sudden, I really want to connect, maybe volunteer at a nursing home. I want to help out. This is the kind of movie that everybody should go to I think. It was heartwarming, witty, and touching. After a while you get really tired of all the romance movies, but this one went way beyond that kind of stuff. It was so real, so true. I think it’s the kind of movie that will capture every audience’s hearts. Its gonna be out in a few years for everyone to see and I hope everybody does! I rate it 5 out of 5! The only complaint I had was that there was a little too much flashing effects on the movie, but nonetheless, it was the perfect movie!
Well, we just found out that we’re not gonna do the cooking thing cuz it’s so hectic down there. So only the people who go to the event tonight (Alissa, Alexa, and Eli) will see it. LUCKY!! Well anyway, I’m going home now to do homework now, and tonight I’ll watch another movie at home. See ya later!!
