Dreamgirls
Hey!!
So, today was kind of like a rest day. I worked on homework for a lot of the day, watched Dreamgirls (which was really good), and then went to see Bill Condon get the Montecito Award. I’ll tell you about Dreamgirls first:
Dreamgirls was really good!! I really recommend it to everybody. If you want to see it while it’s still in the theatres, hurry up cuz it’s going fast!! Dreamgirls is based on a real Broadway show, which was based on a real life story. It sort of follows the story of the Girl Group, Diana Ross. It’s pretty much in the form of old musicals except with R&B music. If you don’t like that kind of music, you probably won’t enjoy the movie.
There are a few main actors and actresses, so I’ll name them all. Here we go: Jennifer Hudson (this is her debut film – she sure can belt it out!!!), Beyonce Knowles, Anika Noni Rose, Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy, Keith Robinson, and more. I thought that Jennifer Hudson completely stole the show. She was so good! I wish I could sing like that.
The thing that I like best about Dreamgirls and what they talked about a lot at Bill Condon’s ceremony was how although they were singing, they also seemed to be able to keep it real and lifelike. I’d rate it 4 out of 5!
