When we saw
Sebastian's Voodoo, an independent short animation on the
Ojai Film Festival's website, we immediately expected it to be a light-hearted comedy. After all, the title doesn't exactly express a negative connotation. But it turns out that after we saw the film we were near tears.
You wouldn't expect an animation about voodoo dolls to be so deep, but surprisingly, we were moved by the small doll who did all he could to save his friends. The movie makes you think about self sacrifice, and the importance of true friends.
Overall, Sebastian's Voodoo is a film that you'll want to watch again and again, and share with your friends. However, we would not recommend it if you are looking for a happy, go-lucky story.
We give this heartfelt film 4 stars out of 5.
