SKATELAND

Reviewed by Chris

Everyone has problems coming out of high school; finding out what to do next, where to go, but for Ritchie Wheeler it's an extremely difficult time. He wants to spend his time partying, hanging out with friends, and working at Skateland, the local skating rink, and for the time being, just letting the time fly by. With the information of his parent's divorce, and his best friend Clive's death, Ritchie begins to realize what he has to do and that he has to make something out of his life and not let time pass.

One fault that I had with this movie is that I found myself playing the game of, "Oh I know what's going to happen next," and then it would happen. It was too predictable -- it had been done too many times before. The acting was good, but I could not get over the generic, predictable story. I do, however, think they portrayed the eighties time period well, and the editing and directing worked very well.

Overall I give this movie a 2.5/5. Great acting, but it did not compensate for the common story.
