MACGRUBER

Reviewed by Griff

Super Villain, Dieter Von Cunth (Van Kilmer), set up a bomb which was going to destroy Washington D.C. There's only one man who can stop him, (even if he's been blown up in every single Saturday Night Live skit he's been in), it's MacGruber. MacGruber (Will Forte), who had been pronounced dead, yet had actually been in hiding, was asked to help with a government mission. He assembles a dream team of burly men all planning to stop Dieter Von Cunth. The team are all blown up in MacGruber's van, a classic MacGruber blunder, which he hand-packed with homemade explosives. In the end, he joins up with Lt. Dixon Piper (Ryan Phillipe) and Vicki St. Elmo (Kirsten Wiig) to defy Von Cunth. Did the team save Washington D.C.? You'll just have to see.

MacGruber was a great movie! I haven't laughed that hard in a while. John Solomon, Jorma Taccone, and Will Forte did a great job with writing this movie. I found it amazing that they made a 20 second Saturday Night Live skit into a feature length movie. At first I was thinking this movie could be stupid. I was thinking, "I mean how can they make a good movie out of this zany plot?" Trust me, they did. I was hooked the whole time; laughing so hard my body ached! It's very adult humor, so parents be careful, because it is rated R. Still, this was probably the funniest movie I've seen in the last year. Everyone did an amazing job keeping the audience entertained and laughing. I can't wait till the sequel!

I give this film a 5/5!
