Hi, I'm Marandah!

As an eighth grader, I've had the opportunity to take part in Teen Press last year, and can honestly say it was the best part of my year. Between the interviews of everyday people in Washington DC, laughing with my fellow Teen Press-ers, and talking to Kate Winslet on the red carpet, Teen Press was amazing. This year, as a "more experienced" person in Teen Press, I am ready to do more behind-the-camera work and mentoring instead of being in the spotlight, even though its one of my favorite things to do.

Theater is one of my passions, and I recently played a leading role in A... My Name is Alice, a lesser known play about the everyday lives of girls. I also love competitive swimming-- my favorite event the the 100 butterfly because it's a so challenging. When I am older, I plan on attending Harvard Medical School and becoming a heart surgeon. I'm currently spending all my free time baking cookies to raise money to go to Bolivia this summer to volunteer in a health clinic and install water filters.
