"Five Fabulous Docs: GIRL RISING"

The Teen Press visited with a filmmaker of GIRL RISING, showing nine girls from different parts of the world overcoming great odds, as a part of the “Five Fabulous Docs” series at the Carsey Wolf Center at UCSB.

Coco, Amanda & Deryn get a behind the scenes visit with Alex Dionne, filmmaker and production manager. They talk about the girls, their stories and what we can all learn from their grit and inspiration...

Arts & Lectures "National Geographic Live!"

TIM COPE, "On the Trail of Genghis Khan"

UCSB Arts & Lectures "National Geographic Live!" series brought TIM COPE, who rode across Asia by horse over a period of 8 months, tracing the path of Genghis Khan. Wow.

Addie & Zach got a chance to sit down with Tim after his presentation to talk about adventuring, real and metaphorical fences, and more. Tim even interviews the team. Check it out.

JOSELO BALDARRAMA, Director of Rio Beni Health Foundation, Bolivia

Joselo Baldarrama, Director, and Christopher Brady, Project Co-Founder of the Rio Beni Health Foundation came to SBMS to visit and share stories. Teen Press members Coco and Jordan met up with Joselo and Chris outside the main entrance to talk about the project, the differences between Bolivia and life in the USA, and about the BioSand water system that the Foundation is trying to have people use in villages along the river in rural Bolivia.
