Hi my name is Addie. I am a eighth grader at Santa Barbara Middle School. I am a Reporter for the team.

I love to play soccer, softball, play piano, and to surf. I play on Santa Barbara Soccer Club for the GU13 White Team in the 2nd Division of SCDSL. I have been playing the piano for about two years, and recently started softball and surfing. A fact about me is that I am extremely competitive. I love my challenging myself and being outdoors.

One of my dreams is to someday play goalie in the Olympics and to learn about how the other athletes got there. I am inspired by Briana Scurry. She was the first african american goalkeeper on the USA’s National Soccer Team. I dream that the Teen Press will cover the Olympics in 2016 and interview the olympic sprinters. I would love to interview the sprinters because they train so hard to sprint for a few seconds. And I can’t imagine how hard it would be to train so long and hard to compete for less than a minute. That would take a ton of willpower.

Some of my favorite films and tv shows are The Terminal, The Pursuit of Happyness, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Argo and The Impossible. I loved The Terminal because of how funny it was, Argo because of inspiring it was, and The Impossible because of how intense it was. One film that I am looking forward to seeing is, Instructions Not Included. I joined Teen Press because I want to learn people’s stories. A quote that inspires me is “If the wind will not serve, take the oars.”
