Oh My God, 17 Inches!?

We are high on life, but more specifically on iLife ‘09. This years Macworld Expo is focused on iLife ’09, with newer, cheaper, and more efficient versions of Apple’s already existing applications and software. One of my favorites is the new Garageband ’09, where artists like Norah Jones and Sting teach you how to play the guitar and the piano. I think this will be a big hit with the kids as well as the parents, because instead of playing on the constricted animated guitar strings that there used to be, you can now actually have home based and interactive learning from professionals. My second favorite was the 17-inch MacBook Pro. Complete with a high capacity battery and weighing only 6 pounds, this MacBook Pro is definitely one of the coolest and sleekest computers that Apple has produced yet.

Today, along with my teammates Austin and Kendall, I meandered the Moscone center looking for potential interviews. During our browsing many people stopped us either to ask who we were or to tell us they remembered us from last year and were happy to see us back this year. Our warmest welcome came from the crew at Dr Botts, who not only were glad to see us back, but immediately set up an interview for later today. For me last year was mostly trying to get a hang of things. It being my first teen press outing I was scared and extremely nervous. It was more about “swag” and not about learning. So coming back this year was really great. But my favorite part was coming back as a mentor, and seeing and teaching the new seventh graders the knowledge we had learned from our previous year. But the day is not over and the “Bunny”* crew and I still have lots of work to do. Till tomorrow.

*Peachpit Press is giving away iPhones at the show, and you have to wear their bunny ears to qualify.
